The beginning of the beginning was “A Tale as old as Time…” Growing up, the reality TV show “Say ‘YES’ to the Dress” was a beloved staple in our household. As my mom came home from work, we would gather around the TV, eating dinner,
and doing homework, captivated by Randy Fenoli’s expert dress selections for brides from around the world.
I dreamed endlessly of the day I would find my perfect wedding gown. After watching every episode, I assumed my dress hunt would be long and arduous, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I met my husband through a dating app that I had initially downloaded as a joke with friends. As the saying goes, life has a way of surprising you when you least expect it.
After my beautiful engagement in August 2022, I immediately began rewatching old episodes, hoping to spot a dress that could be “the one.” I had always envisioned a sleek, minimally embellished A-line or ball gown – a look I referred to as my “plain Jane” style.
In October 2022, my fiancé and I traveled to New York City with his family for a pre-planned trip. As we strolled through the bustling streets of Times Square on a beautiful autumn day, I was shocked to spot my mom and sister. To my amazement, they had conspired with my fiancé to surprise me with an appointment at the iconic Kleinfeld Bridal. The next morning, my loved ones and I embarked on the dress-shopping adventure of a lifetime.
At Kleinfeld, I dutifully tried on several gowns, but it was a dress selected by my mom and sister – one I never would have chosen myself – that truly captivated me. As the stylist secured me in the stunning design, I could suddenly envision my entire wedding day, from the flowers to the music. I knew at that moment that I had found my dream dress. This transformative experience inspired my mom and aunt to open their bridal boutique, Evermore, so they could provide other brides with the same magical feeling I had discovered. On November 11, 2023, I married my best friend in a day filled with pure joy and love, all thanks to the serendipitous dress-shopping journey that brought me to the perfect gown.
